Conversion of any format Analog Tape to Digital Audio Files

High Resolution Digital Transfers for Archiving to Permanent Storage

Cups 'n Strings can transfer and create digital storage for entire catalogs or a single tape

We have over 35 years of analog experience in Tape Baking, Repairs and Restoration and Digital Transfers, five of those years dealing exclusively with the Capitol Records archive.

We have restored collections that our clients have deemed unrecoverable.  Our expertise in the delicate process of disaster recovery (mold removal, water damage, mud, sludge [one series was stored in a barn and had to have cow poop removed]) is supported by customized equipment and a specialist staff with a solid track record.

Your tape will be digitized and returned to you with the highest quality transfer possible. Through our audio conversion, editing and authoring process you will receive a clean sounding digital asset.  Outside of the transfer process we also offer clean-up of the analog signals by removing pops/clicks, audio drop outs and the reconstruction of the original flow of the album if necessary.

We can resolve any analog tape problems from replacing a dried splice, to recovery of a Sticky Shed victim via Tape Baking.

During the transfer process we evaluate the condition of the tape, and make repairs or restoration as needed. We determine the tapes speed, EQ curve, recording level, whether noise reduction used, and if so which type, and adjust azimuth.
